Tamara Dayton

Tamara Dayton, Ed, and her son Nick carried the flag for the Cokeville Rodeo for over a decade — with their final ride being in 2008. Tam started off carrying the flag with her sweetheart, Ed, but her son rode alongside her for the better part of 12 years. If you ask most anyone WHO they remember from the old days of the rodeo, Tam is nearly always one of the first ones mentioned.

Everything had to be just right for Tamara’s flag ceremony. She always wore her red, white, and blue shirt, straw hat, chinks, and they always, ALWAYS presented the flag to John Wayne’s, “America, Why I Love Her.”

Side by side, Tam and Nick have solidified themselves as an iconic duo in our fondest memories of the Cokeville Rodeo.

Tamara was full of sass with an overwhelming touch of personality and fun who had a vision of what she wanted to accomplish.  She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice that she freely shared on many occasions — including singing the “National Anthem” at a rodeo or two.

Tamara, we love you. We miss you. We hear your beautiful voice in our minds and heart.

“We remember” you our beautiful sister.
