Hal Cornia

Hal & Bev Cornia were married in 1986 and moved to Cokeville in 1990. At that time, Hal worked for his Uncle Keith Cornia on his ranch. In 2001 Hal acquired the ranch from Keith, and his family continues to operate the ranch and live there to this day — with 2 more generations of Cornias joining them.

The Cornias are also no strangers to the sport of rodeo. Hal was a competitive Saddle Bronc rider and Bev competed in Barrels, Breakaway and Ribbon Roping. Hal remembers competing in the 1978 and 1980 Cokeville Rodeos in the Saddle Bronc Riding when Lowell Clark brought in his work horses for the stock. He has also placed in the Wild Cow Milking, Ribbon Roping, and has won the Team Roping two different times.

When the Cokeville Stock & Saddle Club was formed, Hal was right there in the middle of the action as they rebuilt the new arena. He brought in his tractor and disc to work the arena. He has continued to do so for about 20 years.

The Cornia Ranch (Birch Creek Ranch) has donated hay for the rodeo stock for lots and lots of years — this year included. That’s a huge sacrifice and donation, for which we are extremely grateful. You will see his ranch proudly listed amongst our 2020 Sponsors to show our appreciation for their generous donation.

When looking back on Cokeville Rodeos past, Hal remembers that, “It was an exciting time and it was great to be a part of it.”

Fast forward to now, Hal says the exciting thing is not only watching his kids compete in the rodeo programs, but his grandkids are getting involved in the action. What an amazing feeling! Isn’t it awesome how rodeo becomes a family affair?

Hal, we want you to know that your donations and service over the years have not gone unnoticed. We remember all that you have gifted the Cokeville Rodeo and CSSC, and we want you to know how much we value you and your family.

Your family continues to be in our prayers and thoughts at this time.

Thank you Hal and Bev, for everything.
