Casey Perkins
Growing up, Casey Perkins wasn’t born into the lifestyle of rodeo. In his teenage years he borrowed what he could to get on a few Barebacks and Bulls.
In 1998 he married Shanna Child, daughter of Jon and Vickie Child. A couple of years into their marriage Casey’s desire to do rodeo came back. He was on the hunt to buy a saddle and to ride Saddle Bronc.
Shanna, knowing the risks of riding rough stock, tried directing him towards Team Roping.
There was a Speed Williams-Rich Skelton Team Roping clinic Jon Child was going to in Inkom, Idaho. Jon was kind enough to let Casey borrow a horse and saddle to attend the clinic with him. I guess you could say the rest is history. Since then, Casey has won multiple buckles, saddles, a horse trailer, and even a truck!
Casey and Shanna have three daughters who all enjoy roping together. In their junior high and high school years, Casey put his rodeo trail on hold to help his daughters chase their dreams. He was always there and did his best to help and support them to be successful.
In 2015 Casey was the president of the Cokeville Stock and Saddle club. Casey loves to help people with their roping skills. You’ll always catch him roping the dummy with the kids giving them pointers. He has a love for life and people.
Thanks for everything! Love Kayla, Kylee, Katelyn and Shanna
